Ok so I was one of those girls that grew up loving and watching “The Little Mermaid” over and over and over. No I’m not just older and wiser now because I can analyze. In 1998, God has unveiled my eyes to understand the schemes of the enemy behind media. I understood more than I could articulate. Years later , after more revelation and understanding God has opened me up to “a whole new world” 🙂
So what’s wrong with mermaids? Are they real? If they are real why would I abhor them? I’m not going to try to convince you that they’re real, because that’s not my point (right now at least). But if they were real, is it wise to let children watch, associate and admire them?
In Genesis 6:2-4 “…that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
So according to this and many other parts of the Bible, giants roamed the earth. They were hybrids, a mixture of 2 bloodlines. Satan’s attempt to corrupt Adam’s bloodline. The Book of Enoch is a great reference to this. Historically they are depicted on the ancient artwork of Egypt and Babylon and civilizations around the earth.
Keyword here is “hybrid”. A corrupt bloodline, which is what the enemy has been trying to do since Adam even to this day. (Let me stay focused here before getting into a tangent.)
Mermaids are hybrids. A corrupt seed. Evil. Something we should not be associated with. The enemy is still trying to infiltrate the human race to trade DNA. Maybe I’ll write another article about why and how…
So in the movie, Ariel (ironically meaning “Lion of God” in Hebrew) is obsessed with the “human” world and falls in love with a “man.” Her father calls them “barbarians” and “fish-eaters.” Now there is a shift in understanding who is the righteous and who is evil. This doesn’t mean as a viewer we hate humans just because of this line but it’s a small seed that is planted, one movie at a time.
Then Ariel leaves her domain in order to become one with the human race. The main issue here is the spiritual aspect, not the social, behavioral aspect I’ve heard many arguments of. The danger here is the slow conditioning of accepting that a non-human can very well join with a human. Because they are good too and there is “love”. This opens the door (gateway, portal) allowing to corrupt the bloodline. In reality, The non-human kingdom (except for the holy angels unless they leave their domain) are with the evil one with evil intentions. They are not beautiful and loving as Ariel.
These are not folkloric stories. These creature have a historic background. Found on ancient Babylonian artwork, are many forms of
hybrids that are depicted as gods. Greek mythology is full of them as you know. Actually they’re found in many cultures around the world. Of course if we’re going to talk about mermaids in ancient art, we have to go back to water spirits that were numerously depicted and are still being dealt with to this day in indigenous cultures in Africa. More on that later.
But now you know why I will stand firm to eliminate corrupt messages from my children. As they get older I will explain more and more as much as they can comprehend. We can raise a righteous and holy generation that will walk in the supernatural world knowing fact from fiction. We are raising a generation of warriors!
Let me know what your views are on this… 🙂
