Do you know someone who has told you that they’ve seen or dealt with angels? Or seen indescribable things in another realm? There are so many Christian books out there that talk about “seeing in the Spirit” or Opening our eyes”.
You may be one of those people that have seen or see things regularly. But then there’s the rest of us that feel “left behind” not engaging with that other realm.
But wait Jesus said to Nicodemus “I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” So wait.. are we then not really born again because we don’t see? Or are we supposed to be seeing but our eyes were shut down after activation?
I will not doubt my born again experience because I’ve been through so much with God, but there’s a piece to our born again experience that the world is shutting down and the church is not really teaching and some the new agers and mystics took hold of and claimed as their own so we wouldn’t dare go there.
It’s time for us to start “seeing”. We need to see our Father and His kingdom which is our kingdom and start engaging. There are so many wonderful teaching out there. But I will share a simple step that will help in the process because with faith, this does need practice.
Visualization. We are still dependent on this earthly realm for our reality. The real danger in that is that the world is feeding our eyes (which is a gate our soul) and that becomes our reality and also shuts down our ability to see God’s reality. So it really depends on how much your are willing to give up to start claiming your right to see.
That’s where filling our eyes with powerful images comes in. Visualization is key. It’s an anchor that you establish in your soul. It becomes your reality that can launch you in God’s reality. Never undermine your imagination. It is also a key to your spiritual eyes. It is God’s gift to you.
I believe God is taking the church (those who are hungry) into a corporate journey that only very select few were able to take in the past. So I pray this over you (and me) as Paul prayed.
“That you may have the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints…”
Remember that song, I don’t remember the name but maybe it’s Open the Eyes To My Heart? When we sang, “Open the eyes to my heart, Lord, I want to see you”. We were so unaware that that song is so deep. That was the very first song I heard at church when I became a Christ in 1999!
Oh Yes I remember!!! HAAA! We were a whole generation that sang that song! I feel the Lord is bringing that prayer to come to a reality. Little did we know what we were praying for. 🙂
This SO resonates with my spirit. Thanks for sharing this. May the Lord continue to bless you with his divine imagination.
I think it was Saint Teresa of Avila who discovered “contemplative prayer” which engages the imagination through meditation on a portion of scripture or an aspect of the nature of God. Saint Teresa had many divine encounters, raptures and trances as a result of her “mode of prayer”. She received much criticism until even her harshest critics could not deny the fruit in her life as her character grew to be more and more Christlike.
