Taking The Mystery And Frustration Out Of Drawing!
Benefits of Drawing “For Kids”
Most kids love to draw. It comes naturally. They will draw on just about anything and anytime. But with the increase of mobile devices, they are also finding themselves drawn to more screen time, which has many drawbacks. But let’s look at how we can best prepare them for their coming years.
There are so many benefits of drawing. Here is why we should encourage our children to draw.
1. Develops Fine Motor Skills
Holding a crayon or other drawing implement helps children develop their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. As an adult, you rely on fine motor skills when you type, drive, or even text. It’s important for your child to develop strong fine motor skills at a young age.
Holding and manipulating a tool is one of the best ways to improve a child’s fine motor skills. Drawing creates immediate visual feedback that changes depending on the tool your child uses and how he or she uses it.
2. Encourages Visual Analysis
Young children do not yet understand some concepts that we may understand as adults, such as distance, size comparison, and textural differences. Drawing provides the perfect opportunity for your child to get a grip on these concepts in a deliberate way.
3. Helps Improve Concentration
Most toddlers have short attention spans. Regular drawing can help improve concentration levels. Because most children enjoy drawing, this activity provides time to establish the concepts of concentration and practice. This helps establish good study habits at school which is essential to your child’s academic success, even in elementary school.
4. Improves Hand-Eye Coordination
In addition to improving fine motor skills, drawing enables your child to draw connections between what he or she sees and what he or she does. This hand-eye coordination is important in athletic and recreational situations, as well as in academic scenarios such as penmanship lessons.
5. Increases Individual Confidence
As a parent or guardian, you probably love to hear the phrase, “Look what I made!” Children love to show off what they created. They are already establishing a sense of self confidence and achievement. Praising them will give them the confidence to try other activities. This also encourages self-expression which improves self-esteem.This affirms who they are and positively impacts relationships.
6. Teaches Creative Problem Solving
Connecting lines and joining dots in the while drawing, requires a certain level of problem solving. In order for a child to consciously draw an object, they first need to visualize the shape and then attempt to reproduce it on paper. This exactly what this drawing book does. They can create animals as they understand the shapes that make it up.
This then increases creativity which is needed in almost all aspects of our lives and in almost every career.
Encourage your little one to draw throughout his or her childhood to reap all the benefits into their adulthood.

Awesome! A great way to take away the mind-numbing video game and get the kids into something creative. I love the step-by-step illustrations that make it easy to follow. Would be great on a road trip or on a rainy day. Who knows, this could lead to the next Scott Adams or Sasha Matthews!
I love to draw and so does my kid. We love to draw together. We love comic books. We love Disney cartoons and creating our own worlds! I love that this book is presented in an easy-to-follow process and that there is grid paper provided to make sure that the drawing is done right or at least close to what the final product could look like! Love it.
I got this book for my grandson and darned if I didn’t wind up learning a couple of tricks for myself to use. Highly recommend this book!
This book is great for those who want to create children’s books or even teach kids how to draw animals. I’m an adult and it had me drawing and posting sticky notes throughout the house for the kids.
